Smoking with Technology

How many of us haven’t read a note on the cigar boxes, cigarette packets that “smoking is injurious to health”. Well it’s true that it is injurious not only to the active smokers but also to the passive smokers. Reason behind this is when the traditional cigarettes are lit; due to the presence of nicotine which is responsible for the smoke, carbon monoxide is released in to the atmosphere and thus making the active and passive smokers breathe the harmful gases. But for people addicted to the smoke of cigarettes a new cigarette in the electronic form was introduced in the market and commonly known as e-cigarettes or electronic cigarettes with eliquid.

How does this give smoke like traditional?

Electronic cigarettes are fueled by a fluid and this fluid is generally called as e-liquid. It is generally powered by a battery which converts the liquid to vapor with 0% release of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The amount of nicotine in the e-liquid of the fuel for the smoke depends on the strength of the e-cigarette.

E-liquids are usually made up of Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), or combination of both PG and VG. Propylene Glycol is a food flavoring agent and is non-toxic chemical. Vegetable Glycerin is a thick, sweet, vegetable liquid and is non toxic. Due to its high density it is hard to smoke. Thus, it is always preferred to have the e-liquids which are made up of combination of both PG and VG. The combinations are available in 80% PG/20% VG to 50% PG/50% VG. The e-liquids are also available in many types of flavors such as vanilla, apple, various fruit flavors, mint flavors and many more.

Is it good or bad?

Eliquid is safe to use as it do not require fire to burn and there is no dusty ash outcome. It is a good type of gift for the people who are addicted to smoking and do not want nicotine in their smoke as nicotine is majorly responsible for the release of harmful gases to the atmosphere and effects the respiratory system of the people.
